Confidential Global Tech Company

Garden on the Wall helped add warmth to the workspace of a confidential global technology company in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, which featured corrugated metal, blackened steel, industrial fixtures and customized plywood. The subtle, minimalistic design of GOTW’s Wall Garden and planters mesh with the ‘elevated industrial’ design execution, yet also provide relief to the edges, angles, and hard surfaces. The effect in the lobby and break area is a unique union of nature and manmade elements.

The sculptural concrete planter with GOTW’s cascading preserved plants greets employees in the lobby. The most striking aspect of the planters is the sheer height created with ginerium and bear grasses, complementing the fern and forest elements, and overflowing with Amaranthus. GOTW’s dramatic Wall Garden is created primarily with the metallic blues of eucalyptus and the warm, natural forest greens of the ferns. The effect is an inviting fusion of elements that anchors the design of the whole space. According to Mancinin Duffy, the Wall Garden of preserved plants is apparently a favorite spot among employees and visitors for selfies.
