Story Gardens

GOTW’s most impactful garden installations to date can now be seen by the (flying) public! These biophilic masterpieces soar above the recently unveiled 200,000 square foot Lobby of Nashville International Airport (BNA) in Tennessee. High above the check-in area and security screening lanes, the gardens span 105 feet in length each, making them the largest preserved garden installations in the world. The intricate design of the gardens’ preserved flora tells a story unique to Nashville and its airport, showcasing local landmark bridges, while also weaving in sound motifs of the music of Nashville and abstract representations of rivers and the rolling hills and valleys surrounding the city. With biodiverse species in varying hues, layers, and textures, these expansive gardens comprise a wholly sustainable, all-natural installation from project takeoff to landing, requiring no maintenance, nor any carbon offset either!
