Biophilia by GOTW graces the lobby area of this dramatic, modern church in Richmond, VA, welcoming the congregation to the newly reimagined space with extra positivity and rejuvenation beyond what the sermons provide! Beginning life as a large department store in a shopping plaza, the space was gutted and rebuilt, completely transforming into a modern, attractive space with a 1500 seat auditorium. The soaring, open lobby feature's a great many vertical elements, which are echoed in the millwork into which GOTW's biodiverse garden is installed. Featuring moss, fern, forest, and eucalyptus species in a compelling nature-inspired pattern interspersed with closely spaced vertical wooden strakes, the garden provides a natural, uplifting boost to churchgoers that will surely have them singing the praises of biophilia!
