Garden on the Wall® and Myceen Unveil ‘The Architecture of Nature’ at NeoCon 2026
An immersive installation exploring biomimicry, regenerative materials, and the future of biophilic interiors debuts at THE MART in Chicago.
FAIRFIELD, NJ - Garden on the Wall®, the pioneer of preserved botanical design for commercial interiors in the United States, and Myceen, the Estonian climate-tech company cultivating mycelium-based acoustic panels, announced today the debut of their first collaborative installation, The Architecture of Nature, at NeoCon 2026.
The immersive installation will be unveiled June 8-10 at Booth #7-5029 on the 7th Floor at THE MART in Chicago and marks the public debut of the companies’ strategic collaboration to bring naturally cultivated, carbon-negative mycelium acoustic materials into the U.S. commercial interior design market.
Inspired by biomimicry, fractal geometry, and the hidden intelligence of natural systems, The Architecture of Nature explores the intersection of preserved biophilic design and regenerative material innovation. The installation combines Garden on the Wall®’s immersive preserved botanical environments with Myceen’s cultivated mycelium acoustic panels to create a layered sensory experience of texture, form, acoustics, and material transparency.
Unlike conventional manufactured materials, every Myceen panel is cultivated naturally by fungi using upcycled wood and paper industry by-products, resulting in entirely unique organic patterns impossible to replicate through traditional manufacturing methods. Combined with preserved moss and foliage compositions, the installation creates an environment that feels less built - and more grown.
“The Architecture of Nature represents a shared exploration into how future interior environments may evolve when material systems begin working more like ecosystems,” said Garden on the Wall®. “This collaboration reflects a growing shift within architecture and interior design toward materials that not only reduce environmental impact, but also create deeper sensory and emotional connections with occupants.”
Visitors to the installation can expect:
-Immersive biomimicry-inspired design
-Sculptural preserved botanical compositions
-Naturally cultivated mycelium acoustic surfaces
-Carbon-negative and Red List Free material innovation
-A new perspective on what future interior environments can become
Beyond the installation itself, NeoCon attendees will also have the opportunity to explore the science, sustainability standards, and transparency initiatives shaping the next evolution of biophilic design and material innovation.
Garden on the Wall® recently achieved an industry first with the publication of a third-party verified Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for preserved gardens and moss wall installations - making the company the only preserved garden provider globally with a published EPD. Additional material transparency and health certifications include HPD v2.3, Declare Label Red List Free status, CDPH VOC compliance, ASTM E84 Class A fire rating, and other sustainability-focused documentation supporting specification within commercial environments.
The collaboration with Myceen further expands Garden on the Wall®’s mission to advance maintenance-free biophilic environments through ecological innovation, wellness-driven design, and transparent material practices.
“If you’re curious about regenerative materials, neuroaesthetic design, acoustic wellness, and maintenance-free biophilic environments,” the companies shared, “we invite you to experience The Architecture of Nature firsthand at NeoCon 2026.”
